What’s the hype about NLP?

A Brief History of NLP

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed in the 1970s by Richard Bandler, a mathematician and computer scientist, and John Grinder, a linguist. They set out to model the successful behaviours and thought patterns of exceptional therapists, including Milton Erickson (a famous hypnotherapist), Virginia Satir (a renowned family therapist), and Fritz Perls (the creator of Gestalt therapy).

By studying how these therapists achieved such remarkable results with their clients, Bandler and Grinder identified key language patterns and techniques that could be used to replicate their success.
